ACTS Evaluation SIG Webinar Recording Available - Learning Health Systems
Join the ACTS Evaluation Special Interest Group webinar entitled “Collaborating to Grow Learning Health Systems: Developing a Framework for Return on Investment .”
What are the benefits achieved for stakeholders when an organization adopts a learning health system (LHS) model? In May 2021, evaluators and process improvement experts from six Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA)-affiliated institutions initiated a workgroup to share their experiences and perspectives on planning, implementing, and improving upon LHS models at their respective organizations. The workgroup’s first project focuses on defining and establishing a framework for LHS Return on Investment (ROI), including improvements in equity, quality, safety, patient satisfaction, reputation, and value. Workgroup members’ local LHS experiences and existing literature informed a framework accounting for multiple stakeholder groups. In this Evaluation webinar, representatives from four CTSA-affiliated organizations at various stages of supporting learning health systems will present the workgroup’s framework for LHS ROI, share their institution’s LHS approach, and elicit audience engagement in a discussion of learning health systems. Attendees will develop an understanding of different approaches to growing a Learning Health System, and gain exposure to a framework to communicate the value proposition to Executive-level leadership and operations staff.
This session is part of a series co-sponsored by the Association for Clinical and Translational Science (ACTS) Evaluation Special Interest Group and the American Evaluation Association (AEA) Translational Research Evaluation Topical Interest Group (TIG).
